Paint Technician – Automotive Coatings

About the role

The company, a leading automotive paint and coatings manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Paint Technician to join its team in Rosslyn, Pretoria. The role focuses on supporting customers with technical advice, colour matching, and ensuring high‑quality paint application across automotive projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers on automotive paint products and application methods.
• Perform colour matching and tinting to create accurate formulations.
• Assist with product demonstrations, trials and resolve technical issues.
• Troubleshoot paint‑application and quality problems, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
• Conduct paint testing, quality evaluations and maintain detailed technical records.
• Deliver training to customers on proper product usage and best practices.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent; qualification in automotive refinishing or paint technology is advantageous.
• Minimum three years of experience in the paint industry.
• Strong knowledge of paint systems, colour matching, mixing and application techniques.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and customer‑service skills.
