Packaging & Assembly Manager

About the role

A leading manufacturing and engineering environment is seeking an experienced Packaging & Assembly Manager to own the Packing & Assembly Department in Wadeville. The role is hands‑on, focusing on order fulfilment, packing accuracy, productivity, process compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and manage daily packing and assembly operations.
• Allocate manpower and resources according to order volumes, priorities and deadlines.
• Ensure orders are packed, labelled and staged for dispatch in line with customer requirements.
• Drive packing accuracy, productivity and on‑time delivery performance.
• Monitor team performance against KPIs and conduct regular operational audits.
• Implement and maintain SOPs for packing, labelling, scanning and assembly processes.
• Identify non‑conformances, risks and inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Support packaging automation projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain equipment, consumable stock levels and a clean, safe 5S‑compliant workplace.

Required profile

• Proven experience in warehouse, packaging, assembly or operations management.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage resources and drive performance.
• Excellent understanding of SOP compliance, health & safety and quality standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Receiving, Inventory, Dispatch, Production and Quality Control teams.

Required skills

• Implementation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Knowledge of 5S workplace organisation principles.
• Experience with packaging automation and process improvement.
• Proficiency in scanning, labelling and inventory accuracy monitoring.
