Outbound Sales Consultant - Funeral Plans & Life Insurance

About the role

Liberty, based in Johannesburg, is hiring an Outbound Sales Consultant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on proactive outbound telesales and virtual client engagement to sell Funeral Plans and Life Insurance within the Personal Banking sector, identifying client needs and converting them into suitable insurance solutions while meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate outbound calls and virtual interactions to promote and sell Funeral Plans and Life Insurance to prospective and existing clients
• Use questioning techniques and active listening to identify clients' insurance and protection needs
• Take part in and run outbound sales campaigns across a pipeline of potential clients
• Explain the features, benefits, premiums and policy conditions of insurance products clearly
• Capture and submit insurance applications accurately and in compliance
• Maintain up-to-date client records and track sales performance against objectives
• Ensure all activities comply with FAIS regulations, company policies and operational procedures

Required profile

• National Certificate in Banking (NQF 5) recognised by FAIS, or an equivalent qualification, and meeting the applicable FAIS Fit and Proper requirements
• At least 12 months of continuous experience in a target-driven telesales or outbound sales environment; banking, insurance or financial services experience preferred
• Proven experience engaging clients telephonically and promoting products
• Ability to achieve sales targets, handle objections and convert conversations into sales
• Strong attention to detail, ability to convince others, adapt to change and meet deadlines

Required skills

• Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting
• Understanding of consumer banking processes, client acceptance procedures and consumer banking product knowledge (advantageous)
• Foundational knowledge of Funeral Plans and Life Insurance is advantageous
