Order Processing & Inventory Control Clerk

About the role

The Order Processing & Inventory Control Clerk ensures accurate capture, processing and administration of procurement and inventory‑related transactions. Working with Sage Pastel Partner, the clerk supports procurement, warehouse and finance functions by maintaining precise records and following established procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and process approved purchase orders in Sage Pastel Partner, verifying all supporting documentation and approvals.
• Allocate purchase orders to the correct supplier, department, branch or cost centre and maintain records of processed and outstanding orders.
• Communicate purchase order information to warehouse staff and provide relevant details for receiving.
• Maintain records of stock ordered, expected deliveries and report any discrepancies.
• Verify delivery documentation against purchase orders, record shortages, over‑deliveries or damaged goods, and ensure complete goods‑received documentation before processing.
• Accurately capture goods‑received transactions in Sage Pastel Partner, matching purchase orders, delivery notes and supplier invoices before forwarding to the Creditors Department.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Experience handling procurement and inventory documentation.
• Ability to follow established procedures and approval requirements.
• Effective communication with warehouse and internal departments.
