About the role

An established and welcoming optometry practice is seeking an enthusiastic, professional and patient‑oriented Optometrist to join its team. As the sole Optometrist within the practice, the successful candidate will play an important role in the continued success of the practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist who enjoys working independently, building meaningful patient relationships and taking an active interest in the overall growth of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and professional clinical assessments.
• Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with patients.
• Provide expert advice on spectacles and contact lenses.
• Dispense and fit spectacles.
• Conduct patient follow‑ups and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Assist with the day‑to‑day management and smooth running of the practice.
• Take an active role in the growth, development and success of the practice.

Required profile

• Qualified and HPCSA‑registered to practise as an Optometrist.
• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, friendly and professional manner.
• Places patient care and exceptional service at the forefront of work.
• Confident working independently and taking responsibility.
• Strong attention to detail and genuine passion for optometry.
