Operations Supervisor – Shift Management

About the role

As an Operations Supervisor you will lead a shift at an Amazon fulfilment centre in South Africa, ensuring that daily processes run safely, efficiently and on schedule. You will be the first point of contact for team members, supporting them to meet quality and productivity targets while upholding Amazon’s safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Measure and monitor workflow performance, providing real‑time information to frontline management.
• Support and train associates, supervising daily tasks and ensuring adherence to safety and quality procedures.
• Assist the Shift/Area Manager with projects aimed at process improvement, workforce engagement and a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve operational issues and support key performance initiatives.
• Use data analysis to identify opportunities to optimise safety, quality and productivity.
• Conduct pre‑shift meetings, monitor shift execution and escalate issues as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in operations, manufacturing, logistics, production or supply‑chain environments.
• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast‑paced setting.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Data‑driven mindset with the ability to act on performance metrics.
