Operations Specialist - Warehouse

About the role

Iron Mountain, a records and information management and data centre provider, is hiring a detail-oriented Operations Specialist for its Warehouse Operations team in Johannesburg. The role covers daily warehouse functions such as receiving, inventory management, picking, packing and dispatching, with accurate record-keeping and high operational standards. You will work closely with the Operations Supervisor, the Inventory team and fellow warehouse staff.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing and dispatching customer orders accurately within required timelines.
• Collaborate with the Operations Supervisor, Inventory team and colleagues to resolve stock discrepancies, identify operational improvements and manage workflow effectively.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, security standards and Warehouse Management System data accuracy.

Required profile

• 2-3 years of experience in a logistics, warehousing or distribution environment.
• High school diploma (or equivalent), preferably in logistics or a related field.
• Proven ability to prioritise tasks under pressure, solve problems in detail, communicate clearly and operate warehouse equipment safely.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of general warehouse processes and safety standards.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Basic proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems.
