Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily branch operations for a well‑established hardware and building‑materials supplier. The role focuses on driving operational efficiency, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring profitability while maintaining a safe and organized workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all daily branch activities to ensure departmental efficiency and profitability.
• Manage, support, and develop department supervisors and operational staff.
• Maintain high standards of customer service throughout the branch.
• Monitor stock levels, merchandising, housekeeping, and stock‑control procedures to minimise shrinkage.
• Coordinate receiving, dispatch, and warehouse logistics.
• Conduct regular branch inspections, identify improvements, and resolve issues promptly.
• Track staff productivity, attendance, and overall performance.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and company policies.
• Prepare operational reports and provide actionable feedback to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
• Experience in managing inventory processes and warehouse logistics.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work within set office hours and on a rotating weekend schedule.
