Operations Manager – Commercial Property (Cape Town)

About the role

A leading commercial property group is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, maintenance and tenant services across its commercial portfolio in Cape Town. The role requires strong facilities‑management expertise and the ability to coordinate multiple service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of commercial properties
• Conduct regular building inspections
• Coordinate contractors and service providers
• Manage preventative maintenance programmes
• Ensure compliance with OHS legislation
• Build strong relationships with tenants
• Assist with maintenance budgets and capital projects
• Oversee generators, HVAC, electrical, fire and security systems
• Respond to operational emergencies when required

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Operations Manager, Facilities Manager or Property Operations role
• Experience in commercial, industrial or retail property environments
• Hands‑on experience managing building maintenance, HVAC, generators, fire systems, electrical infrastructure, plumbing and preventative maintenance programmes
• Proven ability in tenant liaison, contractor & SLA management and building inspections
• Knowledge of OHS compliance, maintenance budgets and CAPEX projects
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Property, Facilities Management, Business or similar (advantageous)
