Operations General Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Operations General Manager to lead our retail and software development operations in Cape Town. The role will work closely with senior leadership to drive strategic and operational objectives, ensuring high performance across all functions.

Key responsibilities

• Set operational efficiency goals, define policies aligned with company culture, and achieve annual and quarterly OKRs.
• Manage senior and middle management teams, overseeing daily operations, project delivery, and business‑as‑usual activities.
• Drive capacity planning, sprint/release planning, estimations, velocity tracking, and reporting.
• Maintain exceptional customer delivery, handle escalations, and implement SLAs.
• Oversee people management, including recruitment, succession planning, wellbeing, performance management, and resource forecasting.
• Control operational budgets, manage costs, and lead financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, legal regulations, company policies, and IT security requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 + years of experience in retail‑related operations.
• Proven senior management experience with a track record of leading large, cross‑functional teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to build lasting customer relationships.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and decision‑making skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of various Software Development Life Cycles (SDLCs).
