Operations Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Accountant to join a market‑leading organisation that supports South Africa’s largest industries. The role blends financial analysis with hands‑on operational support, helping drive performance across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with operational teams to improve financial and operational performance.
• Analyse operational costs, identify efficiencies and recommend actions.
• Conduct site visits and travel to operational locations as needed.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and regular operational financial reports.
• Investigate variances and provide actionable recommendations.
• Monitor and strengthen financial controls across operations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Assist with business planning and strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree.
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles (non‑negotiable).
• 2‑3 years post‑articles experience, preferably in operational or commercial finance.
• Proven ability to work closely with operational stakeholders.
• Experience analysing business performance and driving process improvements.
