Onsite Support & Installation Technician – POS Systems

About the role

Lesaka’s Merchant Division is expanding its field team in the Eastern Cape. The Onsite Support & Installation Technician will deliver high‑quality POS installations, client training and post‑implementation support across East London, Mthatha and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure POS hardware and software at client sites.
• Set up Back Office systems, including stock control, administration and reporting.
• Manage go‑live events, providing after‑hours support and hand‑holding.
• Provide technical and software support during business hours and standby support as scheduled.
• Train client staff on POS and Back Office platforms and obtain sign‑off.
• Collaborate with the regional technical team and own allocated installation sections.
• Take full responsibility for assigned tasks, delivering professional, client‑centric service.

Required profile

• Customer‑centric and technically confident.
• Calm under pressure and proactive in problem solving.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willing to travel between East London, Mthatha and nearby locations and work irregular hours.
• Own reliable vehicle.

Required skills

• A+ certification (or equivalent).
• N+ certification (or equivalent).
• Windows networking experience.
• Experience installing and configuring POS hardware and software.
• Setup of Back Office POS systems.
