Online ESL Tutor for Young Chinese Students

About the role

HelloKid is a 12‑year online education brand based in China that connects teachers with Chinese learners. As an online ESL tutor you will deliver one‑on‑one English lessons to children aged 4‑16, working fully remotely from anywhere in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 25‑minute one‑on‑one English lessons for learners aged 4‑16 during peak hours (6:00 PM‑9:30 PM Beijing Time).
• Follow the provided lesson materials and teaching guidance to ensure consistent quality.
• Maintain a fixed schedule, committing to at least 14 peak‑time hours per week.

Required profile

• Fluent English at an idiomatic level.
• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience.
• Valid TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certificate (or equivalent).
• Passion for teaching young learners aged 4‑16.
• Availability 4‑6 days per week, including at least one weekend day if only four days are worked.
• Stable computer (Intel Core i5 or higher, CPU benchmark ≥4000) and reliable high‑speed internet (≥10 Mbps upload, 30 Mbps download).

What we offer

• Up to $18 per hour (≈28 000 ZAR/month).
