About the role
The Northern Cape Department of Health is recruiting a Nursing Assistant / Nursing Auxiliary Grade 1 in Kakamas (reference NCDOH 92/2026, circular 36/301). This is an entry-level post requiring no experience, but a nursing qualification and SANC registration are mandatory. Higher grades are also advertised.
Key responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (physical care)
- Provide elementary clinical nursing care
- Maintain professional growth, ethical standards and personal development
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in nursing, or an equivalent qualification allowing registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant
- Registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant
- No experience required for Grade 1; Grade 2 needs at least 10 years' experience after SANC registration, Grade 3 at least 20 years
