Newly Qualified CA(SA) M&A Analyst

About the role

Network Finance is seeking a newly qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa) to join its M&A team in Cape Town. The analyst will support senior bankers on corporate finance, capital raising and strategic advisory engagements, gaining exposure to complex transactions across a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed financial modelling, valuation analysis and scenario planning.
• Prepare high‑quality client presentations, pitch decks and information memoranda.
• Perform industry, market and company research to support transactions.
• Assist with deal execution, including due diligence and transaction coordination.
• Analyse financial statements and identify key business drivers and risks.
• Support senior bankers in client engagements and strategic advisory work.
• Maintain financial databases and ensure accuracy of all outputs.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field with a strong academic track record.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory or private‑equity/consulting (advantageous).

Required skills

• Advanced financial modelling and Excel proficiency.
• Solid understanding of valuation methodologies (DCF, comparables, transaction multiples).
• Strong analytical and quantitative ability.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and presentation development.
