National Sales Manager – Automotive

About the role

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced National Sales Manager to lead and grow our sales operations across South Africa and neighbouring countries. The role is responsible for planning, developing, and executing the company's national sales strategy, managing the dealer network, and ensuring sales and profit objectives are consistently achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy to achieve annual targets, increase market share, and drive profitability.
• Direct the planning and geographic distribution of the company's products through the sales network.
• Oversee and support the dealer network to achieve sales and profit objectives, including establishing individual dealer business plans.
• Track and analyze sales metrics, competitor activities, and market trends to inform strategy adjustments.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate regional sales managers and support staff, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Collaborate with marketing, after‑sales, and other internal departments to optimise customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Develop and manage the national sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources across marketing, promotions, and incentives.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role within the motor industry, with a strong track record of achieving national sales targets.
• In‑depth knowledge of sales strategy, budget management, market analysis, and dealer network management.
• Experience working across South Africa and neighbouring markets is advantageous.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing or a related field (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively.
