National Construction Fleet and Equipment Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading multinational manufacturing company specialising in road surfacing, construction material transport and storage, is seeking a National Construction Fleet and Equipment Manager. The role will oversee a fleet of vehicles, construction and road‑surfacing equipment, and multiple workshops across South Africa and Namibia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain a diverse portfolio of construction equipment, transportation vehicles and workshop facilities.
• Ensure compliance with Hazchem, environmental and road‑transport legislation.
• Oversee asset licensing, insurance and claims management.
• Coordinate workshop documentation, scheduling of servicing and maintenance activities.
• Control budgets, monitor expenses, costs, profits and variances.
• Provide technical support to workshop teams and manage key supplier relationships.
• Prepare departmental and international reports for corporate head office.

Required profile

• Mechanical Engineering degree, Diesel Mechanic trade test or related qualification.
• Minimum 10 years experience managing construction equipment, vehicle fleets and workshops.
• Proven people‑management and development experience across multiple sites.
• Valid driver’s licence, own car and clear criminal and credit record.
• Willingness to travel extensively within South Africa, Namibia and other African regions.
