Municipal Technical, Finance & Operations Positions – Lepelle‑Nkumpi

About the role

Lepelle‑Nkumpi Local Municipality is seeking qualified candidates for a range of technical, finance, risk‑management and operational posts. The positions are offered on fixed‑term contracts or two‑year internships and are based onsite within the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor municipal projects under the Expanded Public Works Programme, including budgeting, milestones and compliance.
• Support risk‑management and internal audit functions, conduct assessments and prepare quarterly reports.
• Assist municipal finance teams with budgeting, revenue management, expenditure tracking and financial reporting.
• Operate heavy vehicles for road and storm‑water maintenance and perform general building maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma or degree (e.g., National Diploma in Civil Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related fields).
• 2‑5 years of experience in the specific functional area or, for interns, a recent qualification.
• Valid driver’s licence where required and ability to work with municipal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Project Management principles and civil engineering knowledge.
• Financial management and revenue‑management expertise, including familiarity with the Venus financial system.
• Computer literacy and ability to use standard office and accounting software.
• Heavy‑vehicle operation and general building‑maintenance skills.
