Model Development Manager – Credit Risk

About the role

We are seeking an experienced quantitative risk professional to lead the development of high‑impact credit risk models. The role will focus on IFRS 9 and Basel modelling, influencing risk strategy and regulatory compliance for a leading financial services organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of IFRS 9 and Basel credit risk models.
• Deliver advanced quantitative models that support effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Perform statistical analysis, forecasting, stress testing, and scenario modelling to generate business insights.
• Present technical findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Honours degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing credit risk models within banking or financial services.
• Demonstrated experience with IFRS 9 and/or Basel regulatory modelling.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and statistical modelling capabilities.
• Experience using SAS (advantageous).
