Mining Operator UG (Coal Extraction Equipment)

About the role

Seriti Coal is recruiting a Mining Operator UG, 4UN for its Kriel Colliery in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga. The role covers the operation of coal extraction equipment and other relevant machines, following the codes of practice and standard operating procedures for the equipment and the area of responsibility. It is open to internal and external applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Operate coal extraction equipment and other relevant machinery according to the codes of practice and standard operating procedures.
• Help maintain good housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10 (Math, Science and English).
• At least 2 years' experience in a coal mining environment.
• High regard for safety regulations, policies and standards, with an excellent safety record.
• Not afraid of heights, able to cope with pressure in a production environment, innovative and a self-starter.
• Willing to undergo a behavioural assessment and to work shifts and overtime.
• Previous mining experience, such as shuttle car, roof bolter, feeder breaker, continuous miner, underground tractor, underground LDV or underground LHD.
• Valid K53 driver's licence, able to pass a K53 driving test, and in possession of or able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness.
