Mineral Resource Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading mining company, seeks a Mineral Resource Manager to undertake and collate mineral resource and reserve estimations. The role ensures accuracy in orebody grade and resource tonnage estimations using statistical and geostatistical methods and involves participation in due‑diligence reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mineral resource assessments and provide strategic recommendations for optimal extraction.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance mining operations and improve resource utilization efficiency.
• Lead and contribute to planning and execution of mineral resource projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with resource extraction, promoting safe and sustainable practices.
• Work closely with geologists, mining engineers, and other stakeholders to maximize the value of mineral resources.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports on mineral resource estimates to support informed decision‑making.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Geology.
• Essential experience in survey, rock engineering, and mine planning.
• Extensive experience with geological orebody modelling and estimation software.
• Minimum ten years of progressive experience in mineral resource evaluation and management.
• Minimum ten years of progressive experience in the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of mining operations with a focus on resource optimisation.
• Proven track record in project management and understanding of South African mining regulations.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
