Millwright – Mining Maintenance

About the role

Tronox is seeking a skilled Millwright to join its mining team at the Brandsebaai mine site in South Africa. The role involves providing first‑line mechanical, electrical (medium and low voltage), instrumentation and control support to keep production running smoothly. You will work on both planned and unplanned maintenance in the conveyor department, covering day, night and overtime shifts as required.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and maintain mechanical and electrical assets, equipment and surrounding infrastructure.
• Support and oversee maintenance tasks performed by junior personnel.
• Collaborate with plant and mine staff to identify maintenance and service needs.
• Provide hands‑on assistance during breakdowns, shutdowns and emergency situations.
• Conduct technical evaluations and testing of equipment during routine checks and projects.
• Ensure a safe, healthy work environment and adhere to all operational safety practices.

Required profile

• Certified Trade Test Qualification with a full N2 technical certificate covering mathematics, science and relevant trade theory.
• Proven experience in mechanical, electrical (medium/low voltage) and instrumentation maintenance within an industrial or mining setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, including night shifts and overtime.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a commitment to safety and reliability.
