Millwright – Maintenance Engineer

About the role

PepsiCo is seeking a skilled Millwright to join its manufacturing team. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability and performance of production line equipment through electrical and mechanical maintenance in a fast‑paced FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on site machinery, including planned and preventative tasks.
• Test and evaluate units to verify electrical and mechanical operations.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
• Install, assemble, and commission new machinery.
• Carry out preventive maintenance checks and root‑cause analysis of breakdowns.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Execute welding and fabrication work as required.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and standards.

Required profile

• Matric and N5‑N6 qualification.
• Millwright Trade Test certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in the FMCG sector.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot complex plant breakdowns.
• Team‑oriented mindset.
• Willingness to obtain a wireman’s licence (or existing licence).
• Flexibility to work off‑shift, weekends and be on standby with own vehicle.
