Microbiology QA Lab Manager – Sterile Pharma Lab

About the role

Lead the microbiology QA laboratory in an aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, overseeing active raw materials, plasma‑derived products and third‑party suppliers while managing all QA/QC functions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Active Raw Materials (ARM), plasma‑derived products and third‑party manufacturing suppliers.
• Oversee QA/QC laboratory functions including sterility testing, out‑of‑spec investigations and validation checks.
• Implement and maintain comprehensive environmental monitoring programs and systems.
• Direct full cleaning functions, contamination controls and validity checking across sterile cleanrooms and filling lines.

Required profile

• Senior‑level Microbiology Lab Manager experience (5+ years), preferably in sterile/aseptic pharmaceutical production.
• Proven staff management experience with KPI tracking, job and project allocation to meet timelines.
• Experience managing Active Raw Materials and working with biologicals, haematology or blood‑plasma products is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Expertise in aseptic and sterile cleanroom operations and sterile filling lines.
• Hands‑on experience with sterility testing, out‑of‑spec investigations and contamination control.
• Ability to design, implement and sustain environmental monitoring programs.
