Medical Practice Manager / Medical Receptionist

About the role

West Coast Personnel is seeking an experienced Medical Practice Manager / Medical Receptionist to ensure the smooth day‑to‑day operation of an established specialist medical practice in Durbanville. The role combines front‑desk duties with comprehensive practice administration and direct support to the doctor.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the practice diary, appointments, telephone and WhatsApp communications.
• Welcome patients and provide compassionate front‑desk assistance.
• Maintain organised and professional reception and patient areas.
• Handle debtors, creditors, payments and financial transactions using Elixir Live.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices, medical aid claims and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end journals, reconciliations and account balancing.
• Arrange hospital admission, scan authorisations and other medical approvals.
• Liaise with hospitals, medical aids, patients and other healthcare providers.
• Manage stationery, office supplies and general practice requirements.
• Provide PA and administrative support to the doctor, including occasional driving and errands.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Practice Manager, Senior Medical Administrator or similar.
• Experience in a specialist medical practice environment.
• Strong understanding of medical aid processes and authorisations.
• Robust financial administration experience, including debtors, creditors and account follow‑ups.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm, discreet and confidential in a busy setting.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Residing within 5–10 km of Durbanville and available to start by 1 October 2026.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from R22 000 to R28 000 per month, dependent on experience.
