Temporary Home Care Advisor (Western Cape)

About the role

Air Liquide is looking for a compassionate Temporary Home Care Advisor to act as the essential link between the company and veterans in the Western Cape. You will deliver medical equipment to patients’ homes, ensure they are comfortable with the devices, and provide education on safe use of home oxygen, CPAP and insulin pump therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Veterans Affairs medical products to patients’ homes and set up equipment safely.
• Educate patients on the operation of home oxygen, CPAP and insulin pump therapies.
• Handle all administrative tasks, including monthly follow‑up and patient record management.
• Maintain and grow the existing customer base while acquiring new customers.
• Schedule appointments for routine visits, home sleep studies and equipment deliveries.
• Conduct training demos of diagnostic tools and medical devices.
• Implement Therapy Initiation and Optimisation programs.
• Provide 24‑hour on‑call support, including weekends and public holidays.
• Perform accurate stock counts, control equipment and disposables, and monitor expenses.
• Maintain the company pool car and ensure compliance with safety and quality policies.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse degree or diploma with Matric (Senior Certificate).
• Minimum 2 years experience in respiratory care.
• At least 3 years driving experience.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage patient care consultatively.
• Knowledge of Veterans Affairs safety procedures and patient‑centric processes.

Required skills

• CPAP therapy implementation and patient training.
• Insulin pump setup, demonstration and education.
• Home oxygen therapy equipment handling and safety compliance.
• Stock control and inventory management of medical devices.
• Vehicle maintenance for company pool car.
• Use of PDA or similar tools for patient list management.
