About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a dedicated Medical Care Worker to support nursing unit staff in delivering safe, high‑quality patient care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure a positive experience for patients while maintaining efficient administrative and stock‑control processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with direct patient care and routine tasks.
• Identify and report risks in accordance with hospital policies.
• Provide administrative support to the nursing unit as required.
• Maintain accurate stock utilisation and charge records.
• Contribute to a learning environment through continuous personal development.

Required profile

• Essential qualification as a Care Worker.
• Grade 12 education (desired).
• Experience in a healthcare environment.

Required skills

• Understanding of stock control principles.
• Ability to report and document events/tasks accurately.
• Knowledge of medico‑legal risks.
• Familiarity with administrative tasks in a clinical setting.
• Understanding of patient experience and care principles.
• Application of infection prevention and control principles.
