Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse (MA/LPN)

About the role

Under the direction of Animas Internal Medicine physicians, this role supports the delivery of high‑quality patient care in an outpatient setting. The incumbent will perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure patient safety, comfort, and efficient clinic operations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide courteous customer service.
• Prepare and review patient charts, ensuring all diagnostic results and medical records are up‑to‑date.
• Measure vital signs, perform EKGs, administer medications and injections, dress wounds, and collect specimens (urine, blood, sputum) including phlebotomy.
• Maintain clinical documentation, record patient histories, and assist with examinations and procedures.
• Perform front‑office duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, managing inventory, and tracking referrals.
• Observe patients for adverse reactions and promptly report findings to the supervising physician.
• Maintain examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and handle waste disposal according to safety protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement programs and attend required meetings and trainings.

Required profile

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential required; Medical Assistant qualification is a plus.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures, and state medical practice regulations.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and basic computer proficiency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with patients and staff.

• Hourly salary range $18.75 – $39.89 (dependent on licensure and experience)
