Mechatronic Engineer – Automation & Improvement

About the role

Afrit Pty Ltd is seeking a Mechatronic Engineer to join its Automation and Improvement department. You will work in a dynamic factory environment, focusing on enhancing the efficiency, productivity, and safety of manufacturing processes for trailer production.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead projects aimed at increasing production capacity and reducing costs.
• Design, test, and implement new robotic and CNC fixtures using 3D CAD software.
• Conduct quality assurance, auditing, and maintenance of jig control systems.
• Perform material handling improvements and reduce setup and process times.
• Develop and apply software, programmatic, and technological enhancements.
• Carry out structural analyses (FEA) and experimental testing, simulation, and validation of critical features.
• Prepare technical reports, drawing sets, and recommendations for engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronic Engineering.
• Approximately 2 years of experience in mechanical design and as a Mechatronic Engineer.
• Proven ability to create 3D and 2D designs and work with CNC and robotic systems.
