Mechanical Draughtsman – Westmead, Durban

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Draughtsman to join our automotive engineering team in Westmead, Durban. The role involves creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and production drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using Fusion 360.
• Produce fabrication, assembly and production drawings that meet company standards.
• Design mechanical components and assemblies ready for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure practicality and manufacturability.
• Update drawings and models based on engineering and production feedback.
• Maintain organized CAD files, revision control and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman or Mechanical Designer.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Relevant technical qualification is advantageous.
