Mechanical Draughtsman

About the role

Our client, based in Ekurhuleni, is looking for a detail‑oriented Mechanical Draughtsman to join the Johannesburg office on a limited‑duration contract. You will create accurate mechanical drawings and layouts that support industrial HVAC and water‑cooling projects, working closely with engineers, designers, and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
• Prepare general arrangement drawings, component layouts, sections, and detail views.
• Update and revise drawings based on engineering mark‑ups and site feedback.
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure proper document control.
• Assist in preparing as‑built drawings upon project completion.
• Ensure all drawings comply with engineering standards, specifications, and company procedures.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to deliver accurate design outputs.

Required profile

• National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Drafting or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant drafting experience, preferably in an industrial or mechanical environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
