Mechanical Design Engineer – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design / CAD Expert to join our team on a contract basis. This remote position offers flexible hours (10‑40 hrs/week) and focuses on delivering high‑quality mechanical design solutions for production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide detailed input on mechanical design solutions using advanced CAD tools.
• Evaluate and critique engineering drawings for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Assess and recommend design‑for‑manufacturability and tolerance analysis practices.
• Contribute insights on engineering mechanics and geometric modeling challenges.
• Review and enhance graphics and geometric modeling representations for assemblies.
• Offer guidance on best practices in manufacturing engineering and simulate design scenarios.

Required profile

• Strong experience in production design, including GD&T and DFM principles.
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in written and verbal form.
• Background in manufacturing engineering and end‑to‑end product development.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
• Understanding of tribology, engineering mechanics, and geometric dimensioning.
• Experience with CAD‑based geometric modeling and assembly visualization.
