Mechanical Assistant X2 Global Grade 03

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Assistant to support our mechanics in maintaining and repairing equipment. The role involves assisting with moderate to complex tasks, ensuring tools are available, and maintaining a safe workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Assist mechanics with moderate to complex maintenance and repair of machines and components.
• Ensure the appropriate tools are within reach for each job.
• Physically lift, position, or move items up to 20 kg, using lifting and slinging equipment for larger objects.
• Clean and maintain facilities and equipment.
• Help artisans obtain and verify parts needed for specific jobs.
• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Relevant previous work experience is advantageous.
• Ability to obtain forklift operator certification within 90 days of appointment.
• Ability to obtain overhead/jib crane operator certification within 90 days of appointment.
• Ability to follow instructions under supervision.
• Possession of a Code B driver’s licence is an added advantage.
