Math Literacy Teacher (Grades 10-12)

About the role

The Mathematical Literacy Educator will deliver high‑quality instruction to learners in Grades 10‑12, fostering practical mathematical skills, critical thinking and confidence for both academic success and real‑world application.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Mathematical Literacy lessons aligned with the CAPS curriculum.
• Create a stimulating learning environment that promotes academic achievement and accommodates diverse learning needs.
• Integrate educational technology and innovative teaching methods where appropriate.
• Develop, administer and analyse assessments, providing timely feedback and reporting progress to parents and management.
• Maintain a positive, disciplined classroom and enforce school policies consistently.
• Identify learners needing additional support, implement intervention strategies and provide mentorship.
• Participate actively in extra‑curricular programmes, school events and parent evenings.
• Contribute to staff meetings, professional development initiatives and the school’s strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree and professional teaching qualification.
• Specialisation in Mathematical Literacy or Mathematics.
• Registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in the FET phase (Grades 10‑12) with proven learner results.
