Material Planning Officer

About the role

The Material Planning Officer will support Gibela’s Motors department by coordinating material deliveries and ensuring that production lines have the right parts at the right time. Reporting to the Supply Chain Leader, the role is based in Dunnotar, Nigel and focuses on aligning supplier schedules with the company’s MRP system and production plans.

Key responsibilities

• liaise with suppliers to schedule deliveries (call‑offs) based on MRP requirements and the Master Production Schedule.
• monitor gaps, plan ahead and prevent missing parts on the production line.
• provide input for parameters review, procurement and materials planning.
• manage procurement plan accuracy and ensure on‑time, in‑full deliveries.
• interact with the Logistics Method department to define packaging, stacking, storing and handling requirements.
• communicate parameter standards to suppliers to maintain product quality.
• participate in daily shop‑floor meetings to share visibility of missing parts and recovery plans.
• maintain accurate procurement records at all times.
• monitor supplier performance, follow up on commitments and escalate major issues.
• conduct regular supplier visits for relationship building and compliance checks.

Required profile

• Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain.
• Minimum 3 years of material planning experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to work with suppliers and internal logistics teams.
