Marketing & Digital Finance Analyst

About the role

As a Marketing & Digital Finance Analyst, you will act as a key financial business partner to the Marketing and Digital teams in South Africa. Your role is to drive financial performance, optimize marketing ROI, and support the accelerated growth of e‑commerce and digital channels through rigorous financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic insights.

Key responsibilities

• Financial Business Partnering: collaborate closely with Marketing and Digital leads to manage A&P budgets, overheads, and campaign investments.
• Performance Tracking & ROI Analysis: monitor the financial return on marketing campaigns, media spend, and digital initiatives and provide actionable insights.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: lead annual budgeting, periodic re‑estimations, and strategic planning cycles for marketing and digital cost centers.
• Month‑End Closing: partner with accounting to ensure accurate accruals, expense recognition, and variance analysis for marketing and e‑commerce operations.
• E‑Commerce & Digital Controlling: analyze digital sales performance, customer acquisition costs, lifetime value, and e‑retailer margin structures.
• Risk & Opportunity Management: identify financial risks and commercial opportunities early and propose corrective action plans to leadership.

Required profile

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (CA(SA) or CIMA qualification/progress is a strong plus).
• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in financial controlling, financial analysis, or audit, preferably within FMCG, retail, or a multinational environment.
• Technical Skills: advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP and major BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Soft Skills: strong analytical mindset, excellent communication, ability to translate complex financial data into business insights, and a proactive attitude.
