Marketing Assistant – Brand & Media Support

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Marketing Assistant to support the De Heus South Africa marketing team. The role involves assisting in the development and execution of branding, media, and promotional activities while helping to build the De Heus brand across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare marketing materials up to print‑ready status, coordinating with the National Marketing Manager.
• Manage media relations, including photo shoots, advert design, and distribution to internal and external media sources.
• Plan and execute events, sponsorships, exhibitions and training weeks, ensuring all logistical and payment arrangements are handled.
• Maintain the company’s social‑media channels, website and mobile app, creating campaigns, analysing performance data and updating content.
• Administer branding assets such as uniforms, gifts, farm signs and technical brochures, ensuring timely ordering and distribution.
• Support the CRM (Skynamo) and order‑tracking platforms, loading customer data, providing training and handling help‑desk queries.

Required profile

• Grade 12 certificate and a Marketing Diploma or Degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar marketing support role.
• Valid Code 08/EB driver’s licence.
• Strong attention to detail, proactive attitude and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written communication for article layout, basic copywriting and newsletter preparation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience using marketing software such as Correl draw, CRM tools, online analytics platforms and Google AdWords.
• Ability to design and format print‑ready materials.
• Familiarity with social‑media management and basic video testimonial creation.
