Marketing and Ward Secretary Intern

About the role

The Urology Hospital is recruiting a Marketing and Ward Secretary Intern for a 12-month contract. The intern reports to the Executive Marketing and Stakeholder Relations / Unit Manager and supports the Marketing Department and its designated ward with marketing coordination, stakeholder engagement, patient administration, stock control and day-to-day departmental operations.

Key responsibilities

• Marketing: help plan and run marketing activations and events, coordinate marketing communications and collateral, upload materials to online libraries, social media and internal sites, compile social media content, control branding and assets, update documentation and inventories, and produce weekly, monthly and quarterly marketing reports.
• Ward administration: maintain adequate stock levels, order and check deliveries, use the picking slip system, control aged, defected and excess stock, and keep the patient register, admission packs, doctor's clipboards, bed states, theatre slate and patient files up to date.
• Patient care: receive and orient patients on admission, arrange appointments and treatments such as x-rays, pathology and blood collection, control visitors, arrange transfers and transport aid, and escort patients on admission and discharge.

Required profile

• National Diploma or equivalent in Marketing, PR, Administration or Communication Sciences.
• Experience using social media is beneficial.
• Sound understanding of marketing principles and excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong administration and organisational skills, knowledge of basic stock management, and ability to work within an existing team.
