Marketer – Timber (Permanent) – Piet Retief

About the role

TWK Agri is looking for a detail‑oriented Marketer – Timber to coordinate timber marketing activities across the Piet Retief region. The role bridges forest operations, mills, suppliers and markets, ensuring compliance and smooth delivery of timber products.

Key responsibilities

• Plan monthly volume requirements, allocate market orders and schedule deliveries, tracking fulfillment daily.
• Coordinate with local and export markets to meet timber specifications, quality standards and pricing structures.
• Manage supplier tickets, weighbridge documentation and contractor deductions, ensuring accurate invoicing.
• Administer compliance systems (COC, DDS, EUDR) and conduct field verifications, farmer site visits and audits.
• Maintain records for suppliers, landowners and contractors in ERP/AS400 and prepare monthly forecasts and reports.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric with a relevant Diploma or Degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or Commerce.
• 3–5 years of experience in forestry, timber, agriculture or supply‑chain environments.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence and willingness to travel and work outdoors.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities, comfortable with after‑hours operational demands.
• Passport preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, including AS400.
• Knowledge of Chain of Custody (COC) certification processes.
• Familiarity with Due Diligence Systems (DDS) and EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
• Ability to manage pricing, delivery scheduling and supplier payment workflows.
