Manufacturing Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join a manufacturing client’s finance team in Johannesburg. In this fast‑paced environment you will own the numbers that keep production moving, supporting operational success and driving business efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Oversee and reconcile payroll processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal controls.
• Compile annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Manage VAT, PAYE, income tax, and provisional tax submissions.
• Handle queries related to SARS, audits, and compliance matters.
• Perform age analysis and manage supplier and debtor portfolios.
• Maintain accurate financial records through journals and reconciliations.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Experience with payroll, VAT, PAYE, income tax and provisional tax submissions.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and audit processes.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
