Manager Development Planning

About the role

The Municipality is seeking a qualified Manager Development Planning to lead spatial development initiatives, oversee budgeting and coordinate planning projects within the Matjhabeng area.

Key responsibilities

• Organise personnel, provide guidance and control to ensure effective work delivery.
• Monitor and control the internal preparation of the capital and operational budget.
• Oversee the overall administrative function and support within the Division.
• Plan and manage Division functions and activities.
• Control the compilation of the Spatial Development Framework (SDF) for Matjhabeng.
• Conduct needs analyses for different land uses and investigate land availability.
• Motivate land purchases, releases and marketing of land.
• Develop spatial development plans, policies and strategies for priority areas.
• Provide inputs to the IDP process and monitor implementation of IDP projects via the SDBIP process.
• Coordinate inter‑departmental technical committees on development projects and handle public enquiries.

Required profile

• Master's Degree in Town and Regional Planning.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, including at least 2 years at middle‑management level.
• Professional registration with SACPLAN or SAP.
• Computer literacy and a valid driver’s licence.
• Sound knowledge of local government administration.
