Management Consultant – Value Chain Excellence

About the role

BMA is looking for a Management Consultant to lead value‑chain excellence programmes across African manufacturing sectors. Based in Kloof (Durban) and working in a hybrid model, you will partner with manufacturers, retailers, government agencies and public‑private partnerships to boost competitiveness and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, quantify and present opportunities for value‑chain growth or upgrading using client data and global best practices.
• Facilitate multi‑stakeholder, cross‑functional engagements to evaluate opportunities and design interventions.
• Set projects up for success with SMART objectives, risk identification and robust monitoring & evaluation mechanisms.
• Delegate or execute initiatives such as strategy sessions, business case modelling, dashboard creation, process optimisation or research of best practices.
• Analyse sector performance data in line with agreed objectives and interventions.
• Design and implement change‑management frameworks to secure stakeholder commitment.
• Oversee programme budgets, resources and tasks to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery.
• Problem‑solve in unstructured environments, applying lateral thinking and a mix of strategy, analysis, stakeholder engagement and hands‑on execution.
