Maintenance Assistant

About the role

The lodge is seeking a reliable Maintenance Assistant to ensure all facilities operate smoothly. You will be responsible for a wide range of upkeep tasks across guest rooms, public areas, and lodge infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical work, painting, carpentry and air‑conditioning maintenance.
• Conduct daily inspections and preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
• Maintain swimming pools, plant equipment and lodge infrastructure.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, maintenance requests and urgent repairs.
• Identify potential maintenance issues and take corrective action.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and lodge improvement projects.
• Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas.

Required profile

• At least 23 years proven maintenance experience in a lodge or hotel environment.
• Good all‑round knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, building maintenance and general repairs.
• A valid driver’s licence and clear criminal record.
• Neat presentation, friendly manner with guests and willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Currently based in Hoedspruit or willing to relocate.
