Maintenance Artisan Millwright

About the role

The Maintenance Artisan Millwright is responsible for performing preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on plant equipment to ensure reliable production. The role requires strict adherence to safety, health, environment and quality standards while supporting customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned and unplanned maintenance tasks, including fault‑finding, root‑cause analysis and equipment repairs.
• Conduct regular plant inspections, report non‑conformances and monitor machinery conditions.
• Apply lock‑out procedures, perform routine servicing and ensure critical spares are identified.
• Create and close breakdown work orders, generate notifications and update records in the SAP system.
• Comply with OHSA regulations, electrical statutory requirements and SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) guidelines.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / N3 qualification plus a relevant trade certificate.
• Minimum three years of experience in industrial maintenance or millwright work.
• Computer literacy with ability to use enterprise software tools.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP.
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs.
• Familiarity with Samancor Chrome IMS, EMS, ChromeDoc, Coupa and MES systems.
• Knowledge of MV switching (advantageous).
