Maintenance Artisan Fitter – Preventive & Reactive Maintenance

About the role

The Maintenance Artisan Fitter is responsible for safely carrying out preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, following documented work instructions and safety standards. The role supports production continuity by ensuring mechanical assets are reliable and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all safety, health, environment and quality procedures, including isolation, lock‑out and risk assessments.
• Execute work orders and detailed task lists, capture history and complete notifications to required standards.
• Communicate any deviations, missing spares or equipment issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Conduct fault finding, root‑cause failure analysis and regular plant inspections.
• Maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment in accordance with OHSA and MHSA regulations.
• Use the SAP system to create breakdown work orders, notifications and generate orders.
• Attend to unplanned breakdowns safely, adhering to lock‑out and risk requirements before work starts.
• Manage rotables by following the rotables procedure to ensure spare availability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, health, environmental and quality standards.
• Ability to follow documented procedures and provide clear feedback to supervisors.
• Good communication skills for reporting deviations and coordinating with customers (production and engineering).
