Low Voltage Designer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Systems Designer to create and coordinate low‑voltage infrastructure for commercial building projects. Working remotely from South Africa, you will collaborate with US‑based teams during US business hours to deliver code‑compliant designs.

Key responsibilities

• Design low‑voltage systems for commercial buildings, including structured cabling, CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, audio/visual, intercoms, Wi‑Fi networks and smart building controls.
• Develop layout drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD.
• Interpret architectural and electrical drawings to integrate low‑voltage solutions.
• Coordinate design efforts with architects, engineers and project teams.
• Ensure all designs meet industry standards, client requirements and local codes.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience designing low‑voltage systems for commercial projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for creating detailed design drawings.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, networking, security and AV systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent English communication skills and ability to work remotely during US business hours.
