Loss Adjuster - Vehicle Theft and Hijacking Claims

About the role

Telesure Investment Holdings is hiring a Loss Adjuster in Johannesburg to validate vehicle theft and hijacking claims. The role delivers sound quality of claims decisions, prevents fraud and manages expenditure through expert investigation, and is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate claims by exploring issues, collecting data from many sources and interviewing customers and other parties, using resources such as the police and suppliers.
• Analyse problems and find technical or professional solutions, and ensure claims are costed professionally and thoroughly.
• Administer and underwrite claims according to established criteria, keeping the claims expenditure ratio acceptable.
• Provide quality customer service, including handling complex queries, resolving customer problems and meeting agreed turnaround times.
• Build and maintain relationships with service providers, suppliers, colleagues and internal and external customers.
• Optimise work practices and coordinate with support services so claims are finalised within set parameters.
• Update customers on the claims administration process and departmental systems in line with policy, rules and SLAs.
• Identify shortcomings in compliance processes and develop ad hoc solutions.
• Identify suitable products or services to upsell additional cover to customers.
• Take part in assessment and development planning, training and coaching, and keep up to date with regulations, technology and industry best practice.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or SAQA-accredited equivalent (essential).
• Regulatory examination (essential).
• Science (mechanical or physical), mathematics and an African language (advantageous).
• Forensic investigation diploma or Insurance Institute qualification (advantageous).
• 5+ years of investigative work, or 2+ years in insurance, police, forensic, audit or legal (essential).
