Long Term Insurance Learnership – People Living with Disabilities

About the role

Discovery Health's GAU Service Team is offering a learnership in Sandton, Gauteng, aimed at people living with disabilities. It combines structured learning with practical experience in financial services and leads to a nationally recognised FETC: Long Term Insurance qualification at NQF Level 4. The advert has no closing date, programme duration or stipend amount.

Key responsibilities

• Complete structured learning and practical workplace experience toward the FETC: Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Gain exposure to medical-aid client servicing, claims, new business and health-benefits administration in a call-centre environment.

Required profile

• Programme aimed at people living with disabilities.
• Grade 12 (Matric) is essential; Mathematics at minimum Level 4 (50%) and Mathematical Literacy at minimum Level 5 (60%), and English and a second language at minimum Level 4 (50%).
• Aged between 18 and 25 years.
• Not engaged in post-matric studies or formal employment.
• Has not completed a previous learnership.
• An accurate, service-driven, organised person who can work independently and in a team and is comfortable working under pressure.

Required skills

• Effective written and verbal English.
• Basic MS Excel and MS Outlook skills.
