Logistics Manager – Bulk Road Freight (Steel/Mining)

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics Manager to lead large‑scale bulk road freight operations handling 60,000–100,000 MT of steel and mining products each month. The role sits at the heart of a fast‑moving supply chain, requiring precision, speed and strong control.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end logistics control from mill to customer.
• Coordinate production, stock readiness and dispatch planning.
• Manage cross‑border road freight on the Zimbabwe‑South Africa corridor.
• Drive monthly, weekly and daily tonnage performance targets.
• Oversee border crossings, loading and off‑loading efficiency.
• Maintain transporter relationships and optimise fleet utilisation.
• Lead a team of four logistics coordinators.
• Resolve real‑time operational disruptions.
• Produce accurate reporting and performance tracking.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of logistics or supply‑chain experience, preferably in bulk road freight.
• Proven leadership experience managing a logistics team.
• Experience with cross‑border logistics (advantageous).
• Strong planning, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to perform under pressure.
