Logistics Controller

About the role

Hire Resolve is recruiting a Logistics Controller for a client in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. The role manages vehicle deliveries, drivers and daily logistics operations in a busy transport environment. The client offers a highly competitive salary based on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage commercial vehicle deliveries and drivers, and manage driver availability and operational efficiency
• Monitor vehicle movements using the Vehicle Tracking System and check tracking devices before dispatch
• Manage cross-border planning and procedures
• Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for improved efficiency
• Analyse fuel consumption and operational data, and conduct daily toolbox talks with drivers
• Maintain accurate operational records and communicate operational matters to management and operations staff
• Resolve logistical challenges and develop and maintain effective operational processes

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12; relevant logistics and/or project management experience
• BCom Logistics Management advantageous
• Experience managing drivers, vehicle deliveries and fleet operations, and with vehicle tracking systems
• Cross-border logistics and transport experience
• Strong knowledge of South African geography
• Own reliable transport and willingness to travel or work out of town for short periods
• Able to work under pressure and outside normal office hours when required
• Zulu and/or isiXhosa advantageous
